Trovam, The Valencian Music Fair, will officially unveil its artistic line-up on Saturday, 5 September, at Loco Club in València. The event will feature performances by three bands affected by the October 2024 floods (dana) that took part in the Cànter project, an initiative aimed at supporting the recovery of the music sector: Rumores, Bajo 79, and Malditas Gaviotas. The live performances will be followed by a DJ session organised in collaboration with the agencies Plaga Indie and LA EX as part of one of their well-known MVP parties. Tickets are already on sale through Vivaticket for €3 (plus booking fees) and include one complimentary drink.
The event will give audiences the opportunity to discover three emerging artists from the Valencian music scene. Rumores blends vintage influences—such as the vocal harmonies of doo-wop— with modern synth-pop and experimental elements. Bajo 79 combines classic pop-rock and contemporary indie, drawing inspiration from artists such as Andrés Calamaro, Amaral and Viva Suecia. Meanwhile, Malditas Gaviotas also embraces indie, pop, and rock, with influences including Carolina Durante, Niña Polaca and La La Love You.
This year, the Cànter project has focused on accelerating the careers of fifteen musical acts affected by the floods. Participating artists have attended training sessions led by specialists from different areas of the music industry, have received one-to-one mentoring, and, finally, have been selected to perform at venues across the Valencian Community. Cànter has been developed by the Valencian Music Office with the support of Spain's Ministry of Culture.
Trovam's Artistic Programme
The 14th edition of the Trovam will take place in Castellón from Thursday, 12 November, to Saturday, 14 November. The programme features more than 40 performances across several venues throughout the city. As such, Trovam has become a key showcase for touring Valencian, Spanish, and international artists. This year's programme also highlights some of the most exciting new productions from the Valencian cultural scene, including the exclusive premiere of Pep Gimeno "Botifarra"'s new show, Terra de Guapes by Sandra Monfort, Llum by Noelia Llorens "Titana", as well as live performances by Perfecto Miserable, Romàntic Dimoni, and Quinto. The line-up also includes acclaimed Spanish acts such as Depresión Sonora, Repion, Rebrote, Cervatana, La Perra Blanco, and Toundra.
Trovam is also committed to showcasing the diversity of the Valencian music scene. This year's programme spans pop (AnimalPersona, Brilla Carmen); rock and indie (Bernal, Desert Vipers, Momo, Nadia Sheikh, Palo Domado, Sanspok); rap and urban music (Arre-A.K., La Xica); electronic music (Saurí, Abraxas, and Hugo Mas); singer-songwriters (Feliu Ventura, Maria Faubel, Nacho Casado, and Tomàs de los Santos); jazz (Sara Dowling); and family music (Ramonets).
Finally, the fair also serves as a showcase for artists from across Spain, including the Basque Country (Hofe); Navarre (Kiliki, Rüdiger); Catalonia (Brighton 64, Les Testarudes, OKDW, Paco Pecado, Paula Peso); Castile and León (Dulzaro); Madrid (Amor Líquido, Anaut, VVV [Trippin'You]); and the Balearic Islands (Negre). This year's edition will also feature a performance by Chilean artist Cancamusa.
