In favor of those affected by the DANA
The recent floods that have hit the Horta Sud region in Valencia have caused a devastating impact on the music sector, with losses exceeding five million euros among companies, groups and artists affected by live music.
This impact, still difficult to quantify, also affects theaters, auditoriums, music schools, recording studios and freelance professionals, with serious damage to the operation of the cultural sector.
At this time, not only material reconstructions are necessary, but also social ones. We believe that only through unity and solidarity can we overcome this situation. Music must be the engine that unites us to take care of the soul and channel help to the sector.
The Valencian Music Solidarity Festival is an initiative of the Valencian Music Association in collaboration with the Generalitat Valenciana and À Punt Media, in response to the emergency situation caused by the floods. This is a cycle of 16 charity concerts by Valencian groups that will take place within the framework of the Fira Valenciana de la Música Trovam. The funds raised will be used to rebuild infrastructure and provide direct support to the affected music companies, through the Horta Sud Foundation.
These concerts also aim to remind us of the importance of culture as a driver of social change and as a tool to promote collaboration in difficult times. The Fira Trovam, as a leading cultural event, provides the necessary visibility to ensure greater fundraising and, at the same time, unify the community through music.
This initiative is a call to action, a demonstration of the solidarity of Valencian society, and an opportunity to demonstrate that, in difficult times, music can be the bridge that unites us and allows us to help those who need it most.
This page will be updated with the amount raised, to ensure the transparency of the initiative.
