Pepe Zaragoza

Efímer (2023) is the third album by this Valencian trumpeter as a bandleader. Following La plaça dels somnis (2017) and La cala de l'encís (Sedajazz Records, 2021), this work marks another step in Pepe Zaragoza’s pursuit of a personal sound as both an instrumentalist and composer.
The album is eclectic, showcasing Pepe Zaragoza's trumpet timbre through a combination of traditional and modern elements. As the title suggests, Efímer reflects the fleeting nature of life and the urgency of making music without delay.
Recognized as one of the best jazz composers of his generation, Pepe Zaragoza began studying trumpet at the age of nine at the Municipal Conservatory of Altea. He later specialized in jazz at the Conservatory of Valencia, studying under Ramon Cardo, Voro García, Toni Belenguer, and Albert Sanz, among others. He completed his training at the Kugg Jazz Institute in Graz (Austria) under the mentorship of American trumpeter Jim Rotondi.
