Palmer

Palmer is a transfolk musical collective formed by Aina Monferrer and Jordi Palau. Their songs draw inspiration from both past and future manifestations of Valencian popular culture, with a strong emphasis on spontaneity, orality, and sarcasm.

Their latest work, Conxorxa, was released in early October. Throughout their career, the duo has revived the sound of the Ruta del Bakalao, adapting it to contemporary electronic production. Additionally, they have ventured into styles that had never been explored in Valencian music before, such as synthwave, hardbass, and trance.

Their lyrics are both intimate and vulnerable, while still incorporating social awareness and the folk elements of Valencia. Palmer delivers a live performance that is festive, impactful, and deeply rooted in their desire for cultural and social expression.
